A recent video produced in collaboration with the Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative tells the deeply moving story of Davine “Aziga” Wade and her daughter, A’aryn, as they transition from the instability of homelessness to the sanctuary of Emerson Village.
The story highlights Davine’s incredible resilience during a thirteen-month period spent living in a truck with her young daughter. ‘Aziga opens up about h when she realized she couldn’t navigate those challenges alone and reached out for guidance. Through the support of Beacon and dedicated staff like program manager Lorrie Angline, ‘Aziga found the stability she needed to stop simply surviving and start truly living.
As an Ojibwe woman, ‘Aziga also shares her commitment to providing a spiritual foundation for her daughter, honoring her heritage while building a new future. No matter how difficult the situation, focus on the positive and keep moving forward.
