The Food Service staff at Henry Sibley High School wanted to find a way to involve students more in their menu creation, so they reached out to Community Blueprint. In order to find out what would be the best way to engage with students, Community Blueprint worked with a group of students on the Wellness Committee at Henry Sibley High School (and the Food Service staff) to develop a new school lunch menu item. The goal was to create an item that was healthy, different, and solely an idea from the students. Community Blueprint helped lead their brainstorms and helped them come up with an idea and plan for the new menu item: a Greek salad. The students then cooked the meal and served it to their peers, resulting in a lunchroom full of empty plates and positive reviews.
